Information About Your First Visit

How long are counseling sessions?
You can expect all sessions to range from 53–60 minutes.

Can I bring my child with me?

It is important that you come alone to therapy. We do not provide childcare.

If I cannot make my therapy session, when should I call to cancel?

If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, please contact our office as soon as possible and at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid our late cancellation fee of $100.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be helpful for anyone experiencing emotional distress, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply seeking personal growth. If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or would like additional support navigating life's challenges, counseling can provide tools and guidance to help you move forward.

How often will I need to attend therapy?

Many clients begin with weekly sessions, especially at the start of therapy. As progress is made, sessions may transition to biweekly or monthly appointments, depending on your goals and needs.

Is everything I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. Counseling sessions are confidential, meaning your therapist will not share information without your permission. There are a few legal exceptions to confidentiality, such as situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse, or court orders. Your therapist will review these limits during your first session.

How long does therapy usually last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, concerns, and personal preferences. Some clients benefit from short-term counseling focused on specific issues, while others choose longer-term therapy to work on deeper patterns and personal growth.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

You can schedule your first appointment by contacting our office or requesting an appointment by clicking on "Schedule Appointment" at the top of the page. We will help match you with a therapist and answer any questions you may have about getting started.
