Sydney Dreyer, LCMHC
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Sydney Dreyer is a highly dedicated Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina who is passionate about helping clients not just cope, but truly overcome. With a solid foundation in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.A.Ed., UNC Pembroke, 2022) and Psychology (B.A., Meredith College, 2018), Sydney brings a compassionate and informed perspective to the therapeutic relationship.
Sydney has experience supporting individuals and couples. She has successfully counseled clients dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief and trauma. A significant passion and area of focus for Sydney is supporting postpartum mothers and fathers. Understanding the unique emotional landscape of new parenthood, she is actively pursuing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification, with completion planned for July of 2026. This advanced training ensures she is equipped to provide specialized care for mothers navigating the complexities of the perinatal period.
Sydney’s counseling philosophy is deeply rooted in being client-centered, meaning your journey, pace, and goals lead the way. She is committed to meeting you exactly where you are, fostering a space built on hope and partnership.
Utilizing a blend of client-centered and solution-focused approaches, Sydney helps you identify strengths, set achievable goals, and find practical ways forward. She strongly believes, as Helen Keller once said, that "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it." Sydney strives to make therapy an engaging, fun, and exciting experience—because healing shouldn't feel like homework. When appropriate, she also draws on techniques from Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
When she's not in the office, Sydney cherishes her time with her husband and their three young children. Weekends often find them exploring the outdoors and hiking with their beloved Great Dane and German Shepherd. She also enjoys unwinding through the creative outlets of baking and reading.
