I am thrilled to join the team at RDU Counseling for Change. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate in the state of North Carolina. As a compassionate and dedicated professional, I am committed to supporting you on your path to emotional well-being. My passion for caring for others and building relationships led me to now pursue a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, following a fulfilling career as a speech language pathologist and raising 3 children--2 of them twins!

Whether you are new to therapy or have previous experience, I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where you can freely express your concerns. With a genuine and empathetic approach, I bring warmth and understanding to our work together. I believe
counseling is a collaborative process, and I will listen attentively, validate your experiences, and utilize my clinical expertise to inform our sessions.

I understand the importance of confidentiality and approach our sessions with a nonjudgmental attitude. Embracing a holistic view of wellness, I appreciate the significance of leveraging your
strengths to facilitate growth and healing. And if we can share a bit of laughter along the way, I believe it can be wonderfully therapeutic.

Some of my areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem issues, and parenting, among others. I have personal experience seeking counseling support during life transitions and managing physical pain that severely impacted my mood for a time. I am so grateful for the assistance I received.

In therapy, I mainly adopt a cognitive-behavioral approach that recognizes the importance of common factors that contribute to therapeutic success. However, I use a number of clinical
approaches including some creative counseling techniques tailored to each client. I believe that developing new ways of thinking and behaving can profoundly impact your mental health. I also
believe in the importance of exploring feelings and values in a safe relational context. Additionally, I am deeply interested in the latest research and approaches to healing from trauma.

Outside of counseling, I cherish spending time with friends, especially when we are eating chips and salsa at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I also find joy in the adventure of thrift shopping,
and often enjoy a walk in the fresh air with my family.

I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you and be a part of your wellness journey. To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, click here.
