Brooke Anderson, LCMHCA

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate

Brooke Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in the state of North
Carolina. She holds a certificate in Play Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and earned her Master of Science in School Counseling from Southern University. Brooke also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oakwood University.

Brooke approaches therapy with calm, supportive techniques rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral
Therapy, Person-Centered, and Child-Centered Play Therapy. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, and behavioral challenges. She creates a therapeutic environment that fosters safety, consistency, and curiosity by helping clients explore their thoughts and feelings through imagination, storytelling, role play, sensory play, and expressive arts. Brooke also values collaboration with parents and caregivers, offering practical strategies to support a child’s continued growth outside the therapy room.

In addition to her work with younger clients, Brooke also provides counseling for adults who may be managing stress, self-esteem concerns, career transitions, and emotional disturbance. She is passionate about helping adults develop healthier coping strategies, build resilience, and
reconnect with their strengths. Brooke strives to create a supportive space where clients feel understood and encouraged to grow, heal, and move forward with confidence.

Brooke is the proud author of Different, a children’s book about a young girl who discovers that her unique learning style is her superpower. Outside of her work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending quality time with family and friends, and discovering new restaurants.
